April 30- To AIESEC (written in the afternoon)
To AIESEC..
You have been my greatest discovery. You made me realize how much I can love. It is not about the organization’s framework. It is about the people I have met along the way. It is about the relationships I have built. It is about the memories I have kept. It is about the whole experience of bringing you prestige and shame. It is about different encounters with different shining stars in the sky.
AIESEC made me meet a lot of stars. Stars that have found their little corners in the sky. These people, bring light in different corners of the world.. To their communities, to their friends. (change agents.). Someday I will be one of them.
Before meeting AIESEC.. I just dreamt of becoming a lawyer. Work in a firm, earn money. AIESEC did not only challenge my world view. It totally changed it. Now I feel like, because of my AIESEC edge, I am the next member of Justice League who is bound to save the world.. (hehehe).
Now I dream of becoming a social entrepreneur. I will build businesses that will both promote Filipino products and generate more jobs for the Filipinos. I will provide employment opportunities that will give attractive experiences to people, (with head room, elbow room, ability to leave a legacy, stretch challenges.. etc) heheh, so AIESEC.
I feel like those who are not with AIESEC are lesser beings. If you want to be in the likes of gods and goddesses, then join AIESEC. (of course this is a joke).
I have always joked to people that I will only marry an AIESECER. Somebody who is a top talent and a change agent. And when we have children I will enroll them in universities that have AIESEC in it. And they will become LCPs then MCP. If my kid wants to run as PAI, I will support him or her. I will be a very active alumna and I will put up an AIESEC Parent’s Association- help us help others Foundation… By that time I am already very rich, some proceeds of my businesses will directly go to AIESEC. It will be my favorite charity. I will buy a very nice office for these kids and support them in any way that I can.
Of course it is a joke to just marry an AIESECER. In AIESEC we are taught to not discriminate. Hehe. But if this is how it is like to be in love, then it is an amazing thing to be in love. J I am in love with AIESEC! Will always be.
I will not be ashamed anymore to share my passion to the world. We only live once, life is very magical. I will never trade this experience with some other things. For me there are two best positions in AIESEC, (well at least the ones I experienced), LCP and MCP. And probably everything that has a P in it. Experience how it is like to be President- a little CEO.
One time we were in an event with GMA (Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the president of our Country), in one of the partners’ launch. I was hesitant to approach her because she has so many bodyguards. And one LCP told me- “Why are you afraid. You are also a president of a country, just like her.” And it really made me smile.
